Thank you for this topic: I want to respond to:
    • How is racialized coding also gendered online?
    • What is the relationship between coding, systems and expressions of racialized power? How do we identify, name, and ameliorate projects that reinforce white supremacy or racialization and racism?
Reading the thread on race and coding was like a breath of fresh air. I needed to know this, and especially valued the perspective that there can be no discussion of race, sexuality, sexual orientation, LGBTQ, feminism, or anything else without a consideration of race, racism, and other interlocking systems of oppression. Failure to do so will simply re-inscribe whiteness as normative. Also, whiteness must also be viewed as a “racial” category, and then critically examined for the ways in which it is able to infiltrate every aspect of our culture, and especially coding & technology.
